2023 Year in Review

I hope you enjoyed the holiday season with family and friends. As we settle back into the work and school weeks, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support – it is critical to our success, and we are grateful for your business and loyalty. Together, we accomplished so much in 2023, and we are eager to keep up the momentum in 2024.
To start 2024, we want to look back at what we accomplished in 2023:
Expanded digital footprint with Metro Connect
Metro Connect is our digital service that allows you to complete almost all your banking needs on your computer or mobile device from the comfort of your home – or wherever you are!
If you haven’t used this helpful new service, I encourage you to check it out in 2024. Look for the ‘Hi! Can I help?’ icon located in the bottom right corner on MetroCU.org.
You’ll notice that Metro’s digital assistant “Chelsea” took on more responsibility in 2023 – in addition to chatting with her, you can now reach Chelsea via phone 24/7 at 877.MY.METRO. She can answer banking questions and will transfer your call to a live Metro agent if needed!
Launched the Metro Credit Union Foundation
The Metro Credit Union Foundation provides financial assistance to organizations that contribute to the economic well-being of local communities and their residents.
In 2023, the Foundation awarded more than $100,000 in grant funding to 12 local non-profit organizations who are all making a significant impact in our communities through their programming. We look forward to reviewing the next round of applications which will open later this quarter – please check back here for more information.
Received recognition for accomplishments and efforts
In November, Metro was selected as a Top Credit Union in the Banker & Tradesman Best of 2023 Awards, earning the Bronze Award among credit unions in 2023. We were also proud to be named as an honoree in the Boston Business Journal’s (BBJ) annual 2023 Corporate Citizenship Awards for the fourth consecutive year.
