2024 Year in Review
Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed the holiday season with family and friends. I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support. Our success would not be possible without you and we’re grateful that you continue to choose Metro for your banking needs.
January is a time of reflection – and so while we’re always looking ahead to see how we can improve, I also wanted to take this time to look back on what we achieved in 2024.
Here are a few highlights:
- Launched two new innovative products – Metro Checking & Metro Business Checking – both designed to reward our consumer and business members with flexible benefits and by eliminating unnecessary fees. At the same time, we launched the first-of-its-kind Metro Rewards Program, which allows you to earn more for your money through a redeemable points system for your everyday banking transactions.
- Continued to give back to the communities we serve through various philanthropic efforts, including the Metro Credit Union Scholarship Program where we awarded nineteen $1,000 scholarships to local high school students and more than $100,000 in grant funding to 12 local nonprofits through the Metro Credit Union Foundation.
- Celebrated Metro’s role within the credit union industry by welcoming nearly 100 colleagues from international credit unions to our headquarters in Chelsea as part of the World Council of Credit Union’s 2024 Conference; and our role within the Chelsea community by sponsoring and participating in Chelsea’s 400th Anniversary Parade.
- Recognized for all these accomplishments and more with a Diamond Award from the Marketing & Business Development Council of America’s Credit Unions; a spot on the Boston Business Journal’s Top Charitable Companies in MA list for the fifth consecutive year; and most recently being named No. 1 Credit union in Banker & Tradesman’s “Best of 2024” Awards.
Though we’ve entered a new calendar year, our commitment to you remains the same – provide the products, services, and guidance you need to feel informed and confident in your financial decisions. We look forward to connecting with you throughout 2025 as we continue to work toward this commitment through various new offerings, services, and resources designed with you – our member – in mind.
