No; the Metro Card Controls app is free! Be sure to complete the process to link your Metro cards once you’ve downloaded the app. Your card will not be charged for using the Metro Card Controls app however if you sign up for alerts, standard texting fees may apply. Please check your mobile service provider contract for more details.

To control your cards with Metro Card Controls, you need to tell us which cards you want to control. Be sure to complete the process to link your cards and fully set desired controls and alerts. We recommend setting up at least one control and one alert to make sure things are working as you expect.

You can link all your eligible Metro debit and credit cards to Metro Card Controls, including all the cards of your authorized users, enabling you to turn each card on or off, set controls, and get alerts for each card independently of one another.
